Intensive English Program/ Essay Writing Clinic
Students need to become fluent in their English in order to catch-up with their native peers. This is especially important as American schools’ assignments consist mainly of written assignments and essays; therefore, students’ writing skills directly affect their grades. Assisted Study Abroad students to receive specialized care in addition to school-subject-related tutoring to allow them to become fluent in English reading, writing, vocab, listening, and more. Also, SY’s essay workshop service not only illuminate students to their mistakes but also helps students write quality essays on their own.

In addition to required reading for school, SY provides students with supplemental reading assignments to improve their academic development.

Systematic GPA Management Programs
Students receive five 3-hour small-group tutoring sessions per week with experienced instructors in order to receive top grades in their classes. SY has been checking students’ test schedules and assignment submission dates to help students meet deadlines as well as create an environment to help students become independent learners and form lasting study habits.

Test Prep Programs Targeting High Test Scores
SY has been providing students with specialized lectures to prepare them for high school entrance exams (ISEE, SSAT), college entrance exams (SAT, ACT), or English level exams (TOEFL) based on their needs. Students are prepared through mock exams, helping them analyze problem typer, regular vocab memorization and tests, and exam taking techniques.

Application to Extracurricular Activities
For international students who apply to prestigious universities, the most difficult part of the application process is oftentimes the extracurricular activities/ community service/ internships portion of the application. At SY, every student will have various opportunities to participate in special activities, summer internships, leadership camps, and more during their 4 years in high school. In addition to supplementing their application, these experiences will teach students invaluable lessons. Students are also encouraged to compete in various competitions depending on their skills and interests to build onto their list of awards and achievements.

College admissions specialists will work with students beginning from their 11th-grade summer in order to create the best possible application that packages students’ efforts, making them stronger candidates in the application process.

House-style Residential Dorms
Assisted Study Abroad students will in large, comfortable houses in the San Francisco Bay Area. Students are separated by gender and age, and rooms are either single or double rooms. RA’s who have graduated from prestigious American universities live with the students and take care of their everyday life and academic need.

Cleaning and Laundry
Cleaning and laundry are taken care of for students to allow them to focus on their studies.

Community Experience
Students are able to leam invaluable social skills as they live with and study with their friends. RA’s and afterschool tutors.

Customized Meals
On-site specialists who live in the dorms with the students and provide students with healthy, balanced meals. They provide students with breakfast in the mornings before students leave for school, snacks right after they return home from school and dinner between tutoring and other programming sessions.

SY sends parents regular reports with everyday photos of students, report cards, and any other documentation requested by the parent(s).
